Solace

Solace is a quiet place to write: a shelf of notebooks that file and find themselves.

Your notes are plain Markdown files in a folder you choose, so they're always yours, and apps like Obsidian can open the same folder. Notebooks sit on a shelf, series and folders nest inside them, and the editor shows a live preview and saves as you type. Search one notebook or everything at once.

Still growing: an AI helper, automatic tidying and summaries, quick capture, templates, pins and version history are on the way, and you'll get each update here.

Needs a Mac. The first time you open it, macOS asks you to confirm because it isn't from the App Store; the download includes the one-time steps.
